Carlingford
At 7am on monday we met at Esso to take the bus to Carlingford. As the journey began we stuffed our faces with food . The journey was about 2 hours long. When we arrived we met our instructors Teddy Fiona Dave Darren Connor and Keith. They were there to help us with our activities and to show us what to do. We were allowed to chose the rooms we were staying in. I was in a room with 10 other girls which was really fun and always a mess.In the morning we were split into two groups A and B. We all took part in the water sports in the morning and they provided us with wetsuits which were very difficult to get in and out of. Group A were on the canoes and we canoed out to the waterfall which was freezing cold then we were allowed to jump off the trampoline in the middle of the sea. We walked back to the kitchen were we had our lunch. As the day progressed we did bonding games but we didn't get to do skyline which a few of us werent happy about as we were looking forward to doing them.
After dinner we walked up the mountain and did nightline. All of us were blind folded and we had to put one hand on the persons shoulder in front of you and one on the rope. Everyone was screaming and shouting as it was very dark. No one could see where they were going so you had to tell the person behind you what they were going to encounter. Some of the instructors started to put stuff at our faces and people got a fright from. Walking back from the mountain we took a longer route as we had time to spare which i didn't like as it was tired. That night we got chinese and everyone had brought 30 euro worth of sweets with them so we were set for the night.
The next morning we were woken up at 8am for breakfast and no one wanted to get out of bed as we were all exhausted from the day before. We had watersports again that morning and the wetsuits were even colder than the day before. We weren't very enthusiastic as we were tired and cold but every ones mood started to change when we got in the kayaks. We had to carry two kayaks between two people to the beach which was difficult as they were very heavy. We kayaked all the way to a different beach were we played a game.We also jumped off the trampoline again and then we had to swim back to the beach where our kayaks were.
We walked back to the centre to have lunch as we were all starving. After lunch we walked up the mountain to do laser tag which was my favourite activity over the past 2 days. We were given an army suit and a blue or red gun. I was on the blue team the better team . We played 5 games altogether. The reds were against the blues to see who could get the most people on the other team out before the time ran out. We were not allowed to run as it was dangerous but we all enjoyed it and we got very competitive. When we walked back from the mountain the buses were there to take us home. I couldn't wait to get on the bus because i was so tired. Most of the journey home i fell asleep. If i was ever to go again to Carlingford i would stay a bit longer and would love to do the skyline. I really enjoyed myself and would like to more trips like this.
